BABY IS HERE

ITS A GIRL!!!
Jamison Marie
Oct 7, 2008 at 3:55am
9.7 pounds, 21" in length
14" head and chest
I started having some strange cramping around 6-7ish PM on October 6th. Didn't think anything of it then around 9pm I was getting more cramping and contractions, but very inconsistent. They were pretty easy ones so I was in denial the whole time that *this was it*.
I went and got a shower cause my back was really bothering me. I didn't have any during that time but they hit again once I was out. They were coming no more than 10 mins apart, then down to 5, then to 8. Very confusing!
About 10pm they jumped right down to 3-4 mins and started getting very intense. About 11pm we called the midwife so she could start heading over.
She got here about 12:30am. She was running a little late cause she hit a deer! she and the deer was ok, THANKFULLY!
By the time she got here they were down to 1-2 mins, then every few contractions they would space out to about 5mins apart. She checked me and I was 4cm easily stretched to 5
She suggested we bind my stomach cause the baby was still fairly high up. So we did that. Very painful! but it works.
Time was a blur from there on out. I started walking around my house and up and down stairs which brought on super intense contractions and I would squat during them too.
I want to say it was 2:45ish AM when she checked me again and I was 6cm. Time to set up the pool. Well we didn't take in to account that this pool was quite a bit larger than my previous ones so we quickly ran out of hot water. I managed to labor for about 1/2 hour longer before I NEEDED in that pool. There was barely enough water in there for me, but there was pots of water boiling on the stove as well as large bowls in the microwave so it quickly filled up.
I think I had 2 contractions in the pool when my water broke and the baby dropped very quickly. I had about 2-3 more before my body started pushing and it was pushing hard. Next thing I know the baby is crowning and I had barely done any work. It was so intense that I could barely breath so I would bare down cause that baby needed out NOW.
I got the head out and the shoulders were tight. My midwife was trying to help them out and I just kept pushing and finally got past them and up she floated to the top of the water. I immediately put the baby in my arms and lifted the baby out to see if it was a boy or girl.
I had to do a double take cause I couldn't believe it was a GIRL. I had a gut feeling it was a girl, but with the timing I thought it had to be a boy.
Recovery is going very well. minimal after pains, my body is just a bit achy.
She is doing fantastic. Not nursing much right now cause she is so sleepy, but im sure she will make up for it in the next day or so.
cloth diaper pic.
nanipoos fitted. yeah it doesnt match her shirt. I did have a diaper on her that did, but she just blew it up. then I had to take the shirt off cause she threw up all over it
Tiny baby feet.
Kristen- the photographer took this pic

Jamison maybe an hour after she was born

another Kristen pic. She did a fantastic job. cant wait to see the rest of the pics!

Not yet

Still no baby. Last night I think was the worst night so far. I was having contractions all night. Some were more painful than others and they were not consistant. and my hips were on fire all night too. Made for a lovely night of trying to sleep.
I even went and took a hot shower hoping that they would pick up but all it did was stop them until I stepped out of the shower. Go figure!
Today I am more sore, movements have slowed way down.
I have an appt with my midwife this morning and I think im going to see if she can help get things moving along. I told myself I would NOT do that this time, since my last 2 came with the assistance of castor oil and stripping of the membranes.
Just going to start with the stripping. anything else is the absolute last resort. But between the pain, lack of sleep, and nausea I can barely make it through the day so I know this needs to be over with, at least for the sake of my other kids

Nope, not happening

so here I am stuffing my face with some DELICIOUS brownies that a friend of mine brought over to me last night wondering when the heck this child is going to come. Yup Im still pregnant AHHHH. 3 days left until Im due. Come on little baby....anytime now please!!
Yesterday I tried to lay down and take a nap with Bennett and in the 1/2 hour I was laying there I had 2 contractions that were quite painful and different that before so I jumped out of bed thinking that if I walk around it will get things going. Well all it seemed to do is move the baby a little lower, which I guess is good. Would have been nice for the contractions to keep going, but they stopped. Baby was moving around a lot yesterday after that so I suppose he/she is just trying to get in to the best position.
It would be VERY nice if the baby decided to TODAY, but ultimately tomorrow due to certain peoples schedules and the amount of help that I will get after the baby is born. If not then its just more days that I am alone immediately after he/she is born which sucks! I guess I will never be able to relax and enjoy my post partum time.

Not yet, BLAH

No baby yet. My guess for it being yesterday was wrong. I was feeling crappy all day long and it got worse in the evening. on and off contractions but nothing really good. Im sure I will make it to my appt on Monday and hopefully my midwife will tell me something good.
Have I mentioned how annoyed I am getting with my family?? Getting call after call asking me if I am in labor and to go do some jumping jacks??
I am getting asked by a lot of my online friends too, but that is fine since I don't mind talking to them since its just once in a while. Im getting numerous phone calls every single day. GIVE ME A BREAK. AHHHHHHHH

39 weeks!

technically I am 39.1 weeks today, so only 6 more days until I am due. I am rather shocked that I have made it this far just from how I am feeling.
Im thinking I will go in to labor tomorrow. Friday has stuck out in my head for a little while now, so we'll see :)
The furthest I have carried one of my kids was right to 40 weeks and that was Bennett. I went in to labor about 9-10pm on his due date and I had him 5 hours later.
Tiler was born right at 39 weeks and I gave her a gentle nudge by taking some castor oil. I think I was already in labor with her when I took it and I just didnt even know it. Within 1/2 hour of me finishing the drink I was in full labor. Im not that desperate yet to try anything like that, even though I am pretty uncomfortable.
Well here is a lovely pic that I took yesterday. blech, I look like crap.

39 week appt

Had my appt today even though I won't be 39 weeks until Wednesday.
Everything is good. Im up another pound, but I have also had some swelling today. blood pressure it up too, but I think its a combo of not feeling well and being super tired today
HB was 128 which is the lowest its ever been. Baby is head down and engaged Yeah!!
last Tuesday I was measuring 40 weeks and today I am measuring 38.
She is coming back in a week unless I go in to labor which neither one of us thinks I will make it through the weekend. Crossing fingers I go this week!

Forgot

I had forgotten to update after Susan came over Friday morning to check on the position of the baby. He/she was back to head down, YAY!!!. It had to have happened sometime while I was sleeping cause I never felt anything. And I still couldnt tell when she came cause the baby had been sleeping and never kicked/moved.
But since then I have had a TON of pressure and contractions so I am confidant that the baby is staying put.
I have been doing lots of squatting and I have binded my stomach a couple times so far. That is so uncomfortable but if it helps I am game. Last night I slept with my stomach binded since that seems to be when the baby flips.
I have another appt with Susan on Monday, so we'll see if the baby is still head down. With the way I am feeling I don't think I will make it to next weekend. well, lets hope not

YES!!!

Midwife just left.... BABY IS HEAD DOWN AGAIN!!!!
When I went to bed around midnight the baby was still definitely breech. I could feel the kicking in my cervix OUCH!
and by the time I got up at 6am the baby was back to head down, just really high. this is GREAT. I would love nothing more than to cook this baby at least a few more days.
I was instructed to do lots of squatting and also bind my stomach to try and get the baby lower so he/she will stay put

38 Weeks!

So here I am.... 38 weeks pregnant. OMG!! It still has not sunk in that ANY day I could have another baby. A part of me is dreading labor since Bennett's birth sticks out in my mind so clearly. I remember how painful it was due to him being posterior. I need to put my fears aside so it does not effect this labor/delivery. Mind over matter!

I had an appt with Susan on Tuesday. Im up 1 pound (in the last 2 weeks). for a total of 42 pounds. blah. im measuring 2 weeks ahead still

Heartbeat was 150. as she was doing heart tones she couldnt find it in the normal spot. the baby has been in the same position from very early on. After a minute we realized the baby was breech. UGH

So after some very gently maneuvers and constant monitoring with the doppler she managed to flip the baby to head down. Boy was that the strangest feeling. It didnt hurt like I thought it was going to. The baby showed no distress and she took a few breaks in between pushing on my stomach. almost instantly I felt completely different. My stomach felt "fuller" and I could definitely tell the baby was head down. lots of pressure and shortly after I started having contractions. She did check me (only a fingertip dilated) afterwards and the baby was pretty high still so I was instructed to drink lots of water, walk and do squats to move the baby down. Check, check and check! I was even having lots of contractions so I thought we were in the clear. Went to bed feeling confidant that the baby was going to stay. All day wednesday the baby stayed head down, so again I thought we were in the clear.

Woke up about 4am this morning and felt different. I stayed up for an hour hoping the baby would kick so I knew what was going on, but he/she was sleeping so I went back to bed. Mid morning it was clear the baby was not head down. Put in a call to Susan.
Longer story short- she is coming over in the morning to try and turn the baby again. Still up in the air about possibly starting labor then. Hoping the baby engages enough in my pelvis to where my water can be broke. Obviously the baby has been staying high up and that would not be good to break my water then. Needless to say I am very nervous. Is this baby going to keep flipping back to breech? Should I attempt a breech delivery? If I go to the hospital its an automatic csection~ LAST thing I want for sure.
I guess we will just see how everything goes in the morning.

Here is my 38 week pic.
that is my birth pool in the background :)

37 weeks, WOW

oh my gosh, so now I am 37 weeks, FULL TERM AHHH! This pregnancy has gone by so slow, but yet so fast. how does that one work??
I am slowly getting things done in preparation for welcoming a new member.
I still have a TON of stuff to do and I am crossing my fingers it will all get done in time. There are many times when I think I am not going to go much longer. I am pretty sure the baby has dropped, movements have slowed down, im super nauseous and the fatigue has hit me again. This is pretty common for me right at the end.
But yet, my last 2 babies came at 39 weeks and right on his due date. So judging by that I don't think I will go for at least another 2+ weeks.
This is my 4th baby in such a short time, obviously my body knows what to do so things will just go quicker? ugh! this waiting game can really suck. As long as the baby is healthy I will wait forever.
This week we are going to blow up the pool and do a mock setup of the birthing area just to make sure the room is sufficient. Its going to be in our living room so im sure it is, but better be safe than sorry!
Still have to go get a hose to fill the pool and the adapter thingy to hookup to the faucet. I think that is the only things left to get to complete the birth kit.
This past week I started drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea. Ive had it since the beginning of my pregnancy, but lazy me hasn't been drinking it. So I made a huge batch and just stuck it in my frig so when I want some I just heat it up and viola! its so yummy! Since drinking it I have noticed I am not having the contractions in the evenings like I was. I was getting so miserable, I was dreading the evenings. This is a nice break! It might have no relation, but its still nice.
I started taking EPO this morning. those are so nasty, but have always worked for me. Any time I have a little burp the taste comes up BLECH!
I don't have an appt with Susan until this coming Tuesday, so we'll see what that day brings.

Here is a lovely pic of me this morning:

Contractions, already!

On Wednesday evening I started contracting. Was getting a little nervous cause they were happening so close together. I wasn't timing them cause I knew I wouldnt have the baby so early. At first I thought it was because I didn't drink very much water during the day so I started drinking a bunch but they never went away. I eventually just went upstairs and started painting. I only had 1 up there so now I was thinking that they were stress induced. I remember going through that alot with Tiler. I am just glad they went away. I haven't had any since. I am really not looking forward to all these "practice" contractions. Im sure they will pick back up next week like they usually do.
Can't believe that technically I could have this baby any day. I don't *think* I will go before 39 weeks, but we'll see. Ive had a few people tell me that I have dropped. I didn't think I have since I still can't breath, but I guess my belly feels lower and in the way of my legs a bit more.

36 Weeks and SOOO busy

I have been so busy lately, today actually seems to be kind of a lazy day which feels so nice. The fatigue is catching up to me. You would think I would go to bed early then. nope, not me. wont do something to make my life easier haha.

Been so busy trying to paint. I decided to re-do the kids' rooms completely and finally get Bennett out of Tiler's room and into Malikai's. not sure if I am really looking forward to that though. I am unable to paint very much cause their rooms are upstairs so I need someone to be downstairs with them and I really have no one to watch them, that is until Justin gets home from work and by that time its dinner time. so then I have to quick paint and hope it dries before its time for them to go to bed. Doesnt leave me much time ::sigh::
I keep thinking I will be in labor trying to finish everything up!

2 days ago I went on a cleaning frenzy. Cleaned the whole house. on my hands and knees cleaning baseboards, the whole bit. My house needed it so bad too. It feels good to have a clean house, well a cleaner house.

Here is another thing I have been dealing with for the past week:

Bennett broke his shin bone. It was minutes before bed time and he was helping pick up toys when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I seen him fall and he started crying. He wouldnt put no pressure on his leg and when he tried he would just fall over. We think it was a combination of him wearing footy pajamas and a couple toys on the floor. Its a mystery!
Took him to the ER right away and they took xrays and confirmed it was broke. At first we didnt think it was broke (maybe a sprain at most) cause at the ER he was moving it all over, sitting on it etc.. so we were shocked to find out it was indeed broke. The ER put that lovely full leg cast on him. it was so heavy, ugly (it was white), and it was not waterproof. Bath time was horrendous to say the least.
We had a followup appt yesterday with the specialist where they did an xray to make sure it was healing properly and they ended up putting a new, smaller (a little below his knee), cuter (its black) and waterproof cast on. They even gave him a little shoe to wear cause he was constantly falling on our wood floors. I was so afraid he was going to break another bone!
He is such a trooper about the whole thing. He goes back in 4 weeks (the day before im due), to get another xray and possibly get the cast off!!

Here he is today:

I had an appt with Susan yesterday. Her assistant (and doula) Kristi came over as well. She helped out with Tiler's birth too. She was suppose to be here for Bennett's birth but she had just gotten married and was on her honeymoon. I *think* she came back the morning I had Bennett, so she missed it by a few hours :)

anyway, everything looks great still. Up 4 more pounds, 41 pounds with her scale. 39 pounds with mine. Either way its not *too* bad considering I am having cravings really bad again. baby is still head down, still pretty high though. Bennett was like that until minutes before I had to start pushing lol. Heartbeat was 148. She thinks I am going to have another 9lber. I think bigger, but I thought that with Bennett too and he was 9lbs even. We will see!

She comes back in 2 weeks.

Here is a 36 week pic, taken today :)

34 weeks. Lots of rambling and clothes!

34 weeks today. 6 weeks to go until my due date. a part of me thinks I will not make it that long. Im already starting to have contractions plus this is my 4th baby in such a short time. maybe things will go a little faster?

Monday and Tuesday were fantastic days. I started nesting and I got a bunch of things cleaned and organized. Now I plan on giving the kids' rooms a makeover. Its very much needed. Lets hope though I get a 2nd wind cause today I am exhausted and sore.

Had an appt with Susan yesterday. Its been 4 weeks since I got to see her last. We just had conflicting schedules. anyway. Im up 4 more pounds. grand total of 37 pounds. yuck!

baby is still head down, back still on the left side. Been there every single appt. She said he/she feels to be on the bigger side which is expected anyway with my kids. Im measuring 2 weeks ahead still. everything looks great!

She gave me the birth kit list so I ordered that yesterday. Have to go to walmart to finish picking up a few things that will be cheaper than ordering online. Have to have everything in hand by 36 weeks. CRAZY!

I finally got around to taking pics of the clothes I have for the baby. I will definitely have to get more once he/she is here. Lets hope I am feeling up to it!

most of it is 3/6m too. blah! that isnt going to help me NOW.

Carters. picked this up at OUAC. Cheap, cute and perfect for the weather. Just have to find a onesie to go underneath it

here is some gender neutral gowns. only will use these as backups cause I really hate GN things :x

this is a lot that I just bought on ebay yesterday. all of this for $20!

My favorite Gymboree line- Imaginary Friends. Unfortunately the smallest size it comes in is 3/6m
Gap dress/leggings set. This was bought right in the beginning
another Gap/leggings set

33 weeks!

7 weeks and counting now. well about 6 weeks 5 days now (47 days) since I am late once again posting this.
Duh at me, I just realized that I posted all these pics of my diaper stash, well what about all the clothes I have accumulated over the weeks. I will get pics probably later today.
I know I am set if I have a girl, but I am severely slacking on boy stuff. I guess since I think im having a girl I want to stock up on girly things. but watch since I am unprepared for a boy that is what I will have. haha.
I guess I am not SET on clothes. I have enough stuff to get through just about a week, well depending on how big the baby is. so once I do have the baby we can go shopping and stock up on a wardrobe. I have several gowns for both boy and girl so I am set for pajamas, but during the days I like to get the baby dressed in an actual outfit.

I was suppose to have an appt this past Tuesday with my midwife but after she didnt show up I called her to make sure everything was ok. She took a vacation day and forgot to call me haha. no big deal though, nothing exciting going on and im so used to these appts its rather boring which is a good thing. Not like I WANTED to step on the scale or anything like that lol

im battling water retention like nobodys business, so I was a bit nervous for when I was suppose to have my appt. but the last couple days ive done a good job releasing some of that retention. according to my scales I have gained 34 pounds. I guess that is not too bad. I am definitely looking forward to losing it since its ALL in my hips, butt and thighs @@ At least its not in my face like it was when I was pregnant with my boys. I barely looked like myself with my 12 chins Well with the boys it was my ENTIRE body, so that is another reason I think this is a girl. not too much longer.

Here is my only full body shot from this pregnancy. Got a new mirror, not hung up yet so I dragged it out to my living room lol
I was walking past a mirror the other day at a store and for the first time I realized I am sticking straight out like a round basketball. im so used to being so "full". I think it looks kind of silly haha

Diaper Stash

FINALLY got the diaper stash done. I had no ambition to finish dyeing and sewing the diapers to make it complete but I finally got off my butt and whipped everything out in 4 days. I dyed the diapers originally a few months ago, but the minute I washed them they got super faded. I re-dyed them this past Thursday and although they are a *tad* darker, they still faded ALOT :(
All well. at least they are functional and still semi cute.
the pics are all out of order, but here they are.
Im focusing more on size small, since my last 2 babies were bigger and Bennett was out of the newborn size within a week. I guess I can only hope for the sake of my bank acct that this baby follows suit
