38 Weeks!

So here I am.... 38 weeks pregnant. OMG!! It still has not sunk in that ANY day I could have another baby. A part of me is dreading labor since Bennett's birth sticks out in my mind so clearly. I remember how painful it was due to him being posterior. I need to put my fears aside so it does not effect this labor/delivery. Mind over matter!

I had an appt with Susan on Tuesday. Im up 1 pound (in the last 2 weeks). for a total of 42 pounds. blah. im measuring 2 weeks ahead still

Heartbeat was 150. as she was doing heart tones she couldnt find it in the normal spot. the baby has been in the same position from very early on. After a minute we realized the baby was breech. UGH

So after some very gently maneuvers and constant monitoring with the doppler she managed to flip the baby to head down. Boy was that the strangest feeling. It didnt hurt like I thought it was going to. The baby showed no distress and she took a few breaks in between pushing on my stomach. almost instantly I felt completely different. My stomach felt "fuller" and I could definitely tell the baby was head down. lots of pressure and shortly after I started having contractions. She did check me (only a fingertip dilated) afterwards and the baby was pretty high still so I was instructed to drink lots of water, walk and do squats to move the baby down. Check, check and check! I was even having lots of contractions so I thought we were in the clear. Went to bed feeling confidant that the baby was going to stay. All day wednesday the baby stayed head down, so again I thought we were in the clear.

Woke up about 4am this morning and felt different. I stayed up for an hour hoping the baby would kick so I knew what was going on, but he/she was sleeping so I went back to bed. Mid morning it was clear the baby was not head down. Put in a call to Susan.
Longer story short- she is coming over in the morning to try and turn the baby again. Still up in the air about possibly starting labor then. Hoping the baby engages enough in my pelvis to where my water can be broke. Obviously the baby has been staying high up and that would not be good to break my water then. Needless to say I am very nervous. Is this baby going to keep flipping back to breech? Should I attempt a breech delivery? If I go to the hospital its an automatic csection~ LAST thing I want for sure.
I guess we will just see how everything goes in the morning.

Here is my 38 week pic.
that is my birth pool in the background :)

I am so sorry about the breech! My last baby was breeched for almost my whole 3rd trimester and talk about stress over a breeched baby + a homebirth!! I hope he/she stays head down for you! Mine did eventually stay down after numerous trips to the chiro for the Webster technique.
